wedding lists

I'm feeling torn between relieved that it's already Wednesday and absolutely terrified that it is Wednesday so soon.  Does that make sense?

My mom came into town last weekend and spent a glorious 24 hours with me. Seriously, it was heavenly.  I don't realize how much I miss being around my mom until she's here with me.  Mom, want to move to Houston??

The main purpose of her visit was my first dress fitting! EEEKKK!  But along we way we managed to hammer out a few other wedding things as well.

dress fitting
ribbons for guest bags
guest book table decor
wedding ring

Sorry, you won't get to see more than this until the big day! via IG
But checking off all these things only made me realize how much else is left to be done. I thought I was on top of this wedding planning business. We got engaged in September 2012 and I had the venue and dress figured out by that Christmas.  Food and cake were done last spring.  Those are the big things, right?

Sort of. And wrong, too.  Turns out there are so many things I didn't foresee that really can only be handled in the last few months and that's where I am now.  According to our website, we have 53 days left.  And because lists makes me feel more at ease and more stressed all at once, let's see what's left to do, shall we?

week of (March 5-7th)

So how am I handling all of this?

Currently, I'm sipping on some Starbucks and snuggling with my pups to alleviate some of this stress.  I'm reminding myself that I like being busy. That having a plan will help me work through these things on the list.  I keep a little notebook in my bag which is where I write all my weddings things - phone calls I made, vendors I spoke with, checklists to do, ideas, and more.  In just 53 days, I will be getting married to the man of my dreams.  If the seating chart is wrong or we run out of vodka it will not be the end of the world. It won't even ruin my day.  The people we love will be there to see us begin this crazy journey together.  That is what really matters, and the rest? It's just icing on the yet-to-be-designed cake.

xoxo,
Cait

  2. Your list looks wonderful and now I am cross referencing it with mine to make sure I'm not missing anything!! We're getting married in 3 months and I am feeling very similar - like there is so much to do! We've got this though and no matter what the day will go great :))

  3. I will talk your ear off about all of this next week, can't wait! And like you said, at the end of it all, getting married is all that matters!

  4. You have the right mindset, that's for sure! I'm right behind you at 100 and I need to keep remembering that the details are just details and I'm marrying the man of my dreams, regardless if the details are perfect or not! Thanks for the reminder! :)

  5. I am a list lover too! And wedding planning is so hard because it seems like no matter how "on top of it" you are, there are just certain things that can't get crossed off the list until the final 2 months!

    Following from the link-up! :)

  6. Love the lists! I am struggling because due to my work schedule, I will be "deployed" for two months before my wedding. I get back the week of! The ever changing work schedule. Eek! I am so organized and ahead right now, but my fiance doesn't get that i will be out of contact, etc. I just hope I can get most of the planning rolled up before the big day!
