pearly whites!

I am supposed to be cleaning my house right now since my bestie is come to visit while B is away at his bachelor weekend but instead I'm snuggling the pups and blogging.  Sorry, Jenni!

Before I get into my Follow Through Friday business, can I ask you all a favor?

Would you please take 30 seconds to send a valentine card to a sick child at Texas Children's Hospital?  It's quick, easy, and free.  You can send as many as you'd like. You can share it on all your social media outlets.

https://waystogive.texaschildrens.org/valentine

I just wrapped up my pediatric clinical rotation at TCH and it was amazing. Even the floors that didn't really excite me were wonderful. The kids are absolutely inspiring and their families are so strong.  I know now that I want to work there and that is exciting and terrifying.  But in the meantime, consider sending a valentine card or two or ten.

*********************************************

So what's new in my Follow Through Friday?  Pearly whites, that's what!

I few weeks back I mentioned that I wanted to start taking better care of my teeth and make them whiter.  I began by flossing every most evenings before bed and using a whitening gel a few nights a week.  I was seeing some improvement, and lots of bleeding from flossing, but really wasn't happy with the progress.  In particular I had a tooth that seemed really stained. I put extra whitener on it, flossed more around that tooth, and let my electric toothbrush just hang out on the tooth. But nothing was really doing it.

Today I went to a new dentist.  I hated the dentist I had to see on my old insurance - it was one of those box chain dentist stores.  Ugh.  But a friend who is from Houston recently graduated dental school and gave me a few referrals.  Note: If you're in the Houston area and need a new dentist, check out Dr. McEwen at Richmond Landing Family Dentistry.

I loved Dr. McEwen and his team!

WARNING: Do not judge my crowded bottom teeth! Or my uneven skin tone! I'm working on the skin and I hope to do Invisalign in the near future. (Yes, Mom, I should have worn my retainer. Or the orthodontist should have given me a permanent retainer like everyone else I know.)

Drumroll please......

I still feel like my teeth have room to whiten, but I've got a 2-hour Rembrant whitener kit that I'm going to do closer to the wedding.  But the big news is - LOOK AT THAT TOOTH! It was so stained (or so I thought) and turned out it was tartar that they could clean off.  Thank goodness (and eeew!!)!

Latte through a straw is my new favorite thing.  And I think it will help keep my teeth nice and bright!

Now... anyone know where I can get one of those scrapey dentist tools? I'm sort of obsessed with having one since that my teeth are so clean!

How is Follow Through Friday going for you ladies? Any updates you want to share? Link up and check out the cohosts :)

Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday

Happy Friday, beeetches!

Rebecca Black recently watched her Friday video and gave us some mildly entertaining commentary.

{1}
Mostly likely while you are reading this, I am taking my final exam of the semester.  Wish me luck, send me some good mojo, say a prayer, or whatever your preference may be. I am not picky when it comes to good vibes!

{2}
One of my closest friends (and bridesmaid!) Julie is coming in town this weekend! She was my roommate during Teach for America, she knew me when I just had a crush on B, and I love this girl more than I want a brownie right now.  I'm cleansing, so that means even more than it usually would.  We're running a 10K tomorrow and then drinking lots of moondrivers.  I. CANNOT. WAIT.

{3}
My wedding invitations came this week and they are gorgeous. I'm sure every bride says that so I feel very stereotypical saying that. But it's true. I'll probably share them soon, either on here or some other form of social media, since I plan on addressing them alongside a large glass of wine.  Maybe it's time to invest in one of these so I don't spill on my pretty invites?

{4}
The post office and I are in a fight.  I thought I was going the easy route by ordering wedding stamps online. We ordered them on Dec. 1st, and yet here we are, 12 days later and they haven't even been shipped yet.  Seriously?? Where else do the stamps come from if not from the same place that mails thing? The real kicker is that today while my mom was on the phone with customer service the woman helping her didn't hang up the phone before actually said. "Oh boy, this order is a mess."  I kid you not.  If the USPS can't FIND and MAIL me stamps, then what have we come to?

{5}
I will be celebrating the end of the semester by going on a stamp hunt around the greater Houston area.  Much like my test, good mojo and prayers are appreciated. Or you can just tagalong to keep me company from going insane.

Annnnd Milli might have an eye infection. Because after stamp hunting I really want to spend my weekend at the vet for overpriced eyedrops.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Cait

Spark and the ICU

Just wrapped up my LAST clinical of the semester and I am thrilled! Being in the ICU was an awesome experience.  I'm fairly certain that I want to be an ICU nurse after my experiences there, though I'm keeping my options open until I've gone through Pediatrics (still thinking I'd love the NICU too!) and Maternal/OB.  Just a few of the things I saw/did during this rotation: someone's eyeball popped out, patients crashing/coding, ventilator patients, female circumcision, and limb amputation.  Crazy, right? I loved every second!

Now that I'm home from what I hope will be my last night shift ever for a while, I'm going to nap hard before B and I head to Austin for Thanksgiving.  We'll be packing up the pups and spending a few days in my parents' house which is currently under renovations. Cross your fingers that the crew is hard at work putting in baseboards and a toilet today! Otherwise, B and I will each be on a couch and we'll be using my parents' master bathroom for all our necessary business.

Funny Thanksgiving Ecard: Allow me to apologize in advance for what I will do to your bathroom on Thanksgiving.
PLEASE let us have more than one toilet in the house!

Before I slip away to La La Land, I am giving away a FREE box of Spark!  Yup, a whole box of Spark, in whatever flavor the winner wants.  All you have to do is join up with Sami and I for our Holiday Clean Up AdvoCare 10 Day Cleanse!  Your entry for the giveaway is your purchase of the Herbal Cleanse. When you buy from me, I'll automatically have your name put in the drawing.  Purchase by Monday, December 2nd to be eligible.  Winner will be announced Tuesday! If you buy a whole 24 Day Challenge then I'll have to come up with an even better giveaway - maybe Spark and some Slam? We'll see!

https://www.advocare.com/130356380/Store/ItemDetail.aspx?itemCode=W3171&id=search&flavor=C

Sami and I will be starting the cleanse on Monday, but you can always start a day or two late and just follow along. Use #HolidayCleanUp to join in on the fun!

Happy Pre-Turkey Day! Get your sweatpants ready!

xoxo,
Cait

PS - The giveaway for $40 cash is still going on at JustJacq. There are just over 100 entries which means you've got a great chance at winning it just in time to spend it on some cute holiday accessories!

day late and a dollar short

Does anyone else's grandmother say that?  My grandmother is full of little sayings like that and I find myself repeating them more and more these days. So in sticking with that, here are my 5 for Friday... on a Saturday.  Enjoy your weekend!

1
Meet my new love: soy cinnamon dolce latte, no whip. Not normally a fan of soy milk but Starbucks doesn't offer almond milk (at least, not to my knowledge). And this drink it AMAZING.  Do yourself a favor and skip the PSL in favor of this!

2
I cannot get enough of Katy Perry's new album, Prism.  It is so good!  I would list out my favorite songs but it would just turn into the entire song list. Seriously, go get it. And then blast it while you drive to Starbucks to try the soy cinnamon dolce latte.

3
We finally got our suits reserved at Men's Wearhouse! The associates were absolutely wonderful to work with so I highly recommend them.  We're going with a charcoal gray suit and white shirts, but only the pants and vest. No jackets.  Unlike other suit rental locations, Men's Wearhouse only charges by the individual pieces so that saved some money for our guys.

4
The wedding party shoes arrived for the guys! B saw this picture online and decided that was the route he wanted to go, so white Vans for all our guys.

5
I interviewed for an internship program last week and I thought the phone interview went really well.  Apparently, I was the only one who thought this. Received word this week that they are not interested in moving forward in the interview process.  Well, that must mean that there are better things ahead for me, right?

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend! I'm about to head into my LAST night shift for this course and I cannot wait to get it over with!

some good news

I mentioned yesterday that Thursday's night shift was less than stellar, which is putting it lightly.  After sleeping the day away I had a slightly better outlook and then some good things came my way.  Doesn't life have a funny way of working out?  Just when you think things are down and out, some good comes your way.

It made me step back and realize that even in the struggles I am incredibly blessed and these challenges are just part of the journey.

So on to the good news...

(1) I made the Dean's List for the summer semester!
Don't judge - I study in my Beats and without makeup.
This wasn't on my radar at all and it just showed up in the mail last week.  It reminded me that the hard work does pay off and now I'm more determined than ever to keep it up.  Plus, I'm halfway done with the fall semester which means I'm also halfway through the program! CRAZY!

(2) My loans were forgiven!

After wrapping up my last year of teaching, I found out that I was eligible to have my undergraduate loans forgiven in exchange for completing 5 years at a Title 1 school.  The amount varies based on grade level and content, but teaching 8th grade science put me in the highest category. I submitted my forms this summer, had them returned because they were expired, resubmitted the forms, and then basically didn't hear anything.  I assumed that I would have to start paying on them again come graduation and I had accepted that being in crazy debt was my reality.

Then I got an email on Friday saying something about "thank you for your payment." I panicked thinking that my automatic payments had started back up and I wasn't prepared for that - they've been in deferment since starting nursing school.  However, when I opened the email I saw this instead:

I actually spit out my Spark when I saw the amount.  That's more money than I've ever had at one time.
And my heart almost stopped.  It took me a few hours of checking the email and logging into my account to actually believe it.  I'm still in shock a little bit!

Yup, those loans are actually paid off! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

(3) The giveaway I won from Kaara and Jacquelyn arrived yesterday!

During September, Kaara and Jacquelyn hosted the Move It Challenge and for each week you linked up with your fitness you were entered to win an Advocare Cleanse.  And I won! I didn't realize that I would be getting so many amazing goodies so I'll let the pictures do the talking.
How cute are these messages Kaara wrote around the box? Made me even more excited to open it!

Advocare Slam, Bowl Game Berry
Advocare Herbal Cleanse, peaches & cream
blogilates blender bottle
crocheted coasters
Advocare Spark, pink lemonade
Advocare Coffeccino, mocha
bracelet
earrings
crocheted head wrap
adorable card

I've never tried the Coffeccino and I love mocha flavor so I'm really excited about that.  And the Slams are perfect for my night shifts at the hospital.  Plus, I'm dying over the crocheted items. They are so soft!  I love it all and I am so excited about it! Please stop by Kaara and Jacquelyn's blogs to show them some love - they are wonderful girls that I'm so lucky to have found!

I'd love to hear what good things have come your way lately! And I know it's cheesy, but thinking positively about the things that are challenging us really does make a difference. I encourage you to try next time something has got you feeling down.

xoxo,
Cait

PS - that blender bottle is perfect for the Fiber Drink that comes in the 10 Day Cleanse. I'm starting on Tuesday with Mel and Holly.  It's not too late to order yours!

the jury is still out

My first night shift was this past Thursday and... let's just say I didn't know whether to cry or sleep when I got home.

I'm reserving judgment until I have a few more night shifts under my belt scrubs but I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to stay up all night and I underestimated the toll it would take on my body.  There were a few hours in the early morning where there was nothing to do. No patients awake, no orders to complete, no tests to run, no charting, no meds, nada.  Which translated to standing still for hours.

At least I'm putting my twitter skills to use, right?

Do you know how much it hurts to stand still? And I'm not just talking about mentally painful (which it is - I have a perpetual to-do list that contains no less than 7,492,618 items and wasted time kills me).  But I mean physically painful.  Since the end of my shift Friday morning I've been nursing (haha) a very tight, stiff lower back from all that standing around.

On the positive side, I got to try out a few new nursing skills and didn't suck at all of them.  For the record, blood draws are fairly easy and IVs suck.  Hopefully I'll have better news on that front next time.  Also, my mom sent me this:

Yup, a sleep mask. But not just any sleep mask - the Temper-Pedic Sleep Mark. AKA most amazing sleep mask ever! It is super soft with an adjustable velcro back so it will always fit just right.  There is even padding underneath the eye sockets so that the mask isn't pressed against your eyelashes.  Trust me when I say that no light got in these bad boys, which made them perfect for sleeping the day away after a trying inaugural night shift.

Tweet me some love Monday night if you're up - I'll be back on night shift!

xoxo,
Cait

can it just stay Friday forever?

This has been a hellish week, and while I'm glad it is finally Friday, I almost wish the weekend wouldn't arrive. Huh? What? Allow me to explain.

First, I'll back up.  Last weekend I went to Austin to handle some wedding plans.  My future in-laws visited Austin from Friday through Saturday to check out some venues for the rehearsal dinner.  I headed to town Thursday night and stayed until Sunday morning to get a little extra time with my family.  I really miss my family and it is so nice to spend time with them.

there is nothing better than spending time with this gorgeous lady

But. There's always a but.  I was WORN OUT.  When I drove back to Houston on Sunday, I had to spend the rest of the day studying for my psych finals.  That's right, finals. As in TWO EXAMS.  We had our course final bright and early Monday morning (you may have seen my IG post about getting up at 4am), followed by our ATI exam that afternoon.  (ATI is a test company and for most courses we have in nursing school we take a content test made by ATI that should predict how we will do on the board exam when we graduate.)

Pretest ritual: quite spot, headphones in, iced coffee, and practice questions.  Also, these jeggings made for super comfy but professional test attire.  I wore mine with a long shirt to hide the "legging-ness".

In a normal week, I only head to Galveston once for tests/class/seminar.  My nursing program is a hybrid accelerated BSN program.  The accelerated part means that it only takes a year as compared to 2 years in the traditional program.  The hybrid part means that it is mostly self-directed - all of our theory courses are online, combined with our clinical visits, our lab skills, and exams.  Lab skills and exams take place on campus. We have exams each week but we only have lab at the beginning of a course. Once we've learned the skill, we then put it into practice at our clinical visits which eliminates the need to attend lab on campus.  Does that make sense?

So back to this week.  Like I said, we normally only need to be on campus once a week. I live in Houston which means that without traffic it takes about an hour and 15 minutes to get to school.  Because our Adult 2 course started last week, we had lab this week to learn to insert IVs, draw blood, change central line dressings, and suction tracheostomy tubes.  It was GREAT. Except for needing to be on campus 4 days in a row.  I am totally exhausted from all the back-and-forth, the long days in lab, and then trying to study while I'm at home.  I'm relived that today I only have to work at Pure Barre for a few hours in the morning.

So why I am wishing the weekend wouldn't arrive?  Two words.

TOUGH. MUDDER.

This Saturday is the Tough Mudder race.  We checked out the course earlier this week and I am legit scared.  First, it is 13 miles. WHAT? I was expecting 10 miles and that was enough to make my heart race.  But 13 miles? I wasn't planning on that until November 23rd and without crazy obstacles.

You can view a better version here. And check out descriptions of the obstacles.

I just hope I can finish. And if my arms still work on Sunday, I'll do a recap.

Anyone else ever done the Tough Mudder? Or any other type of obstacle race? I'd love to hear about your experience and any tips or tricks you've got!  Wish me luck!

wedding wednesday fail

HUMP DAAAAAAY!
Don't lie. You said it in the camel voice, either out loud or in your head. Doesn't matter how many times I see it. Never gets old.
{via}
But hump day means that I'm at clinical all day long.  Please send me good vibes. Psych is not my nursing forte. I know, I've said this before. I'm repeating it because it's true! Thankfully, this is my second to last clinical for this course.  The end cannot come soon enough.

Except, that it is coming too soon. This course is 6 weeks long and we are in the midst of 4 straight weeks of tests.  I hardly have time to attend clinical (60 hours in total) and read the chapters before it's time to take another test. Throw in my community learning project, two new courses starting up, running and you know - LIFE - and what have you got? A stressed and sleep deprived girl.

How does this relate to Wedding Wednesday? Well, because I failed at the planned post.  I'll be back soon with a great post on my ideas for table decor including some wonderful little Etsy shops I plan on using. But for now, I need to read and sleep and see my man.

Thanks for being supportive.
(Sorry for the pity post!)

Happy hump day, y'all!

xoxo,
Cait

PS - For putting up with my lack of post and complaining, here is a little treat. When I taught, it was in a district you might call "hood" or "ghetto" so this is all too true.  Enjoy!
Warning: Some vulgarity. So don't play it on full volume in your cubicle!

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday!

1. I've lost track of the days.  Studying and going to clinical means that my days themselves are very structured but my weeks are often all over the place. As a result, I feel like I don't ever know what day it is. And even though it's Friday today, it doesn't feel like it. Let me correct myself - it doesn't really have the same meaning that it used to when I worked Monday through Friday.  I used to be "Woohoo, finally Friday! I have 2 days off to hang out and not work and take care of the millions of things I couldn't get to during the week because of my job!"  But now I have the luxury of taking care of those tiny errands that easily add up during my week as a glorified study break. Winning?
What day is it today?
How life used to be.
Scrubs Meme:
Life now.

2. My student loan interest rate went down! Just got an email telling me that the Bipartisan Student Loan Certainty Act of 2013 means that my loan interest rates dropped down to 3.86%. Truthfully, I don't remember what they were originally but hey, I'll take any break I can get.

3. My scholarship came through! My school requires you to pay your tuition upfront (loans and/or personal money) and then after 2 weeks they process any scholarships. As we speak, $1084.74 is being transferred into my bank account so this means I will continue to eat this semester!

4. Only 2 psych clinicals to go! Psych is just not the field for me, you guys. I have the utmost respect for those who work in the psych field and it has been wonderful to learn about it. There are many more parts going into the care for our mentally ill than I realized. But dear Lord I do not wish to work there.  We go on Wednesdays for 12-hour shifts and I only have 2 more visits to make!

5. I can't stop drinking Starbucks. I have a serious addiction and not only is it not a great post-workout fuel, but it is draining my bank account.  I need an intervention!

Hope you all have a great weekend and that your football teams win! Unless you cheer for the Purdue Boilermakers, the Alabama Crimson Tide, or the Tennessee Titans.  In that case, prepare to lose. Love ya!

budgeting on no budget

I just returned from a glorious trip to Austin and I'll be blogging about it over the next week.  But now I want to talk about that nasty B-word.  Budget.

Just saying the word makes me vomit a little in my mouth.  I hate budgeting. I want to spend lots of money very irresponsibly and have no repercussions from it. Basically, I want to be a Kardashian.
(Yes, I'm written about this before.  Khloe is my fav. Get over it.)

Looks like we feel the same way about budgets.  I got your back, sista. {via}

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Here's what brought on this budget frenzy.

Last week I got my last paycheck from my teaching job.

LAST. PAYCHECK.

Let that sink in.

As of now, I have no income but I clearly still have expenses. I've been budgeting myself on mint.com since January 2010 and I love it. It was the first thing that actually kept my accountable. Not always on or under budget mind you, but accountable. I had been teaching for a year and a half at that point when I realized I had no savings (not even a little) and that was absurd.  Not to mention embarrassing.  So I put on my big girl panties, joined mint.com, and starting budgeting & saving.

Funny Workplace Ecard: Money doesn't solve problems, but it could solve my money problem.
true dat {via}

Fast forward 3 years and I've hit 2 of my 3 current goals:
save $1500 for our wedding
save $7000 for nursing school
saving $10k for living expenses

I started these goals last fall when we got engaged and I realize that this nursing school dream was going to become a reality.  My last goal was to save $10k for living expenses while in school - with my last paycheck I reached $9100.  Not bad. And I've got a few payouts coming my way from Amazon/Ebay that will be put straight in there.

Listen, I get it - budgeting SUCKS.  Capital D, sucks the big one.  But I have to face the facts - this 27 year old is an adult and it's time to act like one.  So with 10 months to go (September-May, which is when I take my nursing boards and hope to be employed again), my goal is to spend less that $900/month on living expenses.  Here's where that moolah will go:

                                                  $230.00      car payment
                                                  $87.33        car insurance
                                                  $200.00      gas
                                                  $80.00        TxTag (toll roads)
                                                  $300.00      food
                                                  TOTAL $897.33

Assuming I can actually keep to that budget, I'll be just find during school.  The area I'm most concerned about is food. I LIKE eating good food.  And I LIKE eating healthy food, which we all know is expensive. I feel better when I eat healthy and that is worth the cost to me.  I will have to put in extra effort to eat healthy at home because it is too damn costly to eat every meal out AND nothing makes me more upset that buying food just to watch it spoil.

I also babysit on the side once a week and that money will be put into checking as well.  Even though nursing school is a large time commitment, I truly enjoy the family I sit for and the extra money makes it so I don't feel guilty if I treat myself to Starbucks or a pedicure once in a while.

Do any of you budget successfully? Any tips for me?

xoxo,
Cait

Finally Friday!!

Hey yall! Linking up for this belated post!

1. Sorry I've been silent the last week or so.  I know I say this a lot (probably because it's true) but nursing school is a lot of work. I'm not complaining - I'm excited to be in the program. But it's just taking the majority of my time right now and I'm okay with that.

2. If you're feeling a void in your life with my lack of posts, feel free to follow me on Instagram or Keek! Those are much easier to stay updated with and I usually post a few times a day.
(Don't hold me to that though. Now that I've said it, watch me be silent all weekend.  Juuust kidding - follow me!)

Instagram: cregan85
Keek: caitmregan

3. And speaking of instagram, I saw this video posted on facebook tonight and couldn't help but love it. If you're Insta-obsessed, you'll get it.

Pretty sure every single one of those pics shows up on my feed. Everyday.

4. I'm treating myself to some Shiner Light Blonde (if you're in Texas, go get some. Now. I'll drink while you go to the store wait.) and wrapping my nephew's birthday gift while blogging.  Talk about multitasking.  And procrastinating. Oh lawd.

5. Lastly, I'm doing the AdvoCare 24 Challenge again next week. I've been pathetic at working out/healthy food shopping the last two weeks so this is just the kick in the pants that I need. I'll be starting on Wednesday, June 20th and TRYING to post daily with my food/workouts.  If you're interested in it, there is still time to order and start with me! Just email me or click my link!

If you're not sure, stick around and see how it all works out for me. Then you can try it afterwards!

xoxo,
YFG

PS - showing off some super cute engagement photos next week so check back!

Summer is here! (just kidding)

Wait, I don't get summer? This whole accelerated-BSN-in-11-months isn't going to give me a 2 month summa break?  Dang.

Well, let's post some goals up on the ole' blog anyways...

School goals
1. A in every class. I want that 4.0 so badly I can taste it.
2. Get up by 8am every day (M-F), even when B sleeps in til noon.
3. Stop procrastinating. [This post isn't procrastination. I've already been hard at work for 2 hours, folks!]

Life Goals
1. Visit Austin with my future MIL to decide on a rehearsal dinner location.  Sidenote: wedding is in Dripping Springs. Any suggestions on fun places that aren't exclusively BBQ since our Catholic families will be attending on a Friday during Lent?
2. Sign the contract for our caterer (currently in limbo while we decide on rehearsal dinner).
3. Make a clothing donation to Goodwill/clean out closet.
4. Continue to make time for friends/family.
5. Stay on budget! I only have 5 paychecks left (EEK!) and then that's it until I finish school/pass NCLEX/get a job sooo I use mint.com to stay on track and I love it - anyone else?

sample screenshot of my June spending so far

Fitness Goals
1. Attend 4 PB classes - I miss my PB girls!
2. Run 1/week minimum.
3. Sign up for a 5K.
4. Advocare 24 Day Challenge begins again June 23rd.

So this will be my 2nd go around with the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.  I did it for the first time in March and LOVED it.  Eating clean has really pushed me to examine my dietary habits and make some long term changes for the better.  I've got my energy and I feel great.  Last time I couldn't work out during (read about it here) but this time I don't have anything standing in my way.  If you're interested in joining me, check out the program here and comment below or email me.

I've got a ton of clean eating recipes I'll post in the days leading up to the challenge. I'll also share my meal plan so it will be super easy for anyone to follow along!

What are your plans for June? Any goals you'd like to accomplish?  I'd love to hear about them!

xoxo,
YFG

PS - Old Navy is having a 40% off sale on their active line. I bought a pair of leggings about a year ago and liked them just fine but when combined with their prices it makes them amazing! I just ordered some tanks and capris - can't wait to try them out when they get here!

PPS - #flexbreak :)

long weekends are good for the soul, bad for the scale

Hey errbody! Hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend as much as I did.

It was filled with the AMAZING wedding of two very good friends...

picture from @lindseylk #finallyabecker

...and studying for nursing school.  Lots and lots of studying for nursing school...

Expectation:
image

Reality:
image

...in addition to a 5 lb weight gain.  That's right folks, 5 big ones.  As in, almost out of the 130's.  YIKES!

image

But all that eating drinking studying paid off because I took my first Integrated Concepts of Pathophysiology and Pharmacology test today and got an A!  The first two tests for my program were last week and I got a B on both. I wasn't thrilled (type A personality means I want that A, damnit!) but I wasn't beating myself up over it either.  I haven't been in school for a while, it's an accelerated program, there's an adjustment period yada yada yada.

To celebrate, I'm rewarding myself with some shopping I've had my eye on for a while now.  I've got 4 items in my Kiki La'Rue wishlist at the moment but I'm struggling to pick out just one thing.  Thankfully (never thought I'd say that), I've got another test later this week so if when I get an A I can order another item.  Score!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4

At the moment, I've abandoned my pledge to eat healthy and am thoroughly enjoying a glass or two of vino and some delicious bread and butter.  No, I'm not kidding.  That is my treat.  That, and watching some TimBob and Hubby Jack lip sync some sweet tunes.
